Watched this stupid movie at the insistence of a friend who thought it rocked. Turned out to to be a listless and stupid scene-by-scene lift ... er, remake of Derailed. Right from the initial scene where Vishal Dixit (Emraan Hashmi) tutors his daughter to the final scene where he decamps with the loot accumulated by his blackmailers. Total lift. Well, you will say, what do you expect when one of the names of the dirctor/producer has a 'Bhatt' in it ? True, very true. And in an attempt to make this out of world story credible, it's based in Hong Kong ... with the expected wierd interactions by the dumbass characters with the police officials.
The scene-by-scene lift was a major irritant. What is frustrating is that there is not a SINGLE redeeming feature about this movie. Not a SINGLE song (there are a couple and are true to the Bollywood tradition of inserting songs which have no relevance whatsoever to the plot), not ANY scene, not a single worthy performance. Emraan Hashmi looks and acts like a total dick. I don't know why people say he is a good kisser. These people probably live under a rock. Personally, I felt that he looked like he was licking an ice cream cone in his smooching scenes.
Miss this stupid movie by a mile and see the original. That's not too good either but at least has some good performances (it has Cilve Owen, nuff said).
